Rapid Devotional of the Week

For this week's devotional, we're going to refer to John 3:30.

"He must become greater; I must become less."

We've heard this verse before, but what do we need to do everyday to elevate Jesus in our lives and die to self?

It's not about us.

I'm all for positivity - I firmly believe the Lord has created each of us for a specific purpose that only we can do. I know that Jesus loves each one of us so much that He would send His only son to die for us. We are promised that every good and perfect gift comes to us from above.

The problem comes with who we believe is the subject of these statements. Is the subject us? Or is it God?

You see - we were all created for a specific purpose - but we can't fulfill that purpose without Jesus. And us living out that purpose is for the glory of God. We are promised that every good and perfect gift comes to us from above - but gifts we are given aren't ours - the best gift is the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13) and everything is given to us through Him.

It's not about what we can do...it's about what God can do through us.

How are you surrendering to God's purpose this week?

What gifts has the Lord given you for His glory?
